Hillsborough county offers free online classes on financial management

Hillsborough, Florida -- Hillsborough County Extension Service, in association with with the University of Florida Extension and Okaloosa, Duval and Lake County Extension offices, is offering free live interactive online classes on financial management. 

The classes, dates and times are as follows:

"Heart of a Champion" scholarship to help 66 Hillsborough seniors

Hillsborough County, Florida-- An upcoming, exciting event will honor some of Hillsborough County's high school senior athletes, and award them with scholarships for displaying hard work, determination and true spirit.

The "Heart of a Champion" scholarship will go to one male, and one female student athlete from 33 Hillsborough County schools who have demonstrated what “heart” is all about, event organizers explained Wednesday.

Hillsborough County, Florida -- Enroll kids in the Summer VPK Program. 

The Summer VPK Program is a free, voluntary, 300 insturctional-hour program designed to prepare Florida's 4-year-olds for successful entry into kindergarten. 

In Hillsborough County, the 2013 Summer VPK Program is delivered at certain public elementary schools and by a select number of approved, private child care providers. A list of schools and private providers can be found here.

Tampa, Florida-- Two fortunate and talented Florida high school students were recently awarded the David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts’ Broadway Stars of the Future Award.

Chandler Morehead and Tim Hart will have the chance to compete this June in the National High School Musical Theater Awards, named after Chairman of the Nederlander Organization, James Nederlander.
