Commissioners seek applications for citizen boards and councils

Hillsborough County, Florida -- Hillsborough County Commissioners are seeking residents to serve on several County citizen advisory boards and councils. Residents interested in seeking appointment must be registered voters in Hillsborough County. These are voluntary positions, and members serve without compensation. Applicants may apply to more than one board, but may only serve on one board at a time. All applicants must submit the Standards of Conduct form along with their application.

Hillsborough Human Relations board to meet

Tampa, Florida --The Hillsborough County Human Relations Board which reviews complaints filed under the County Human Relations Ordinance meets at 12 p.m. Tuesday May 14 at County Center.

The meeting will be on  the 26th Floor of County Center, in Conference Room B.

County Center is located at 601 E. Kennedy Blvd. in downtown Tampa.

Tampa, Florida--If you have been cited for a false burglar alarm in Hillsborough County you can make your case to  Code Enforcement Special Magistrate for Burglar False Alarms and Natural Resources.  at 9 am Monday May 6th in the 2nd Floor Boardroom of County Center .

If you want to appeal any decision by the Special Magistrate you'll need a reconrd of the hearing and may need to insure a verbatim record is made.

An appeal has to be scheduled within 30 days after the Magistrate's order.

Hillsborough County seeks public feedback on its Draft Strategic Plan

Hillsborough County, Florida -- After three months of public input and five months of planning workshops, research and retreats, the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners has created their draft Strategic Plan for the County.

Residents are encouraged to review the draft Strategic Plan and give their comments on the Plan through the Strategic Plan blog, via email or phone by May 14. The County Commission will take their final vote on the Plan at their regular Board meeting on May 15.

Tampa, Florida-- The Commission on the Status of Women is holding it's April meeting from 10 a.m. to 11:30 this coming Tuesday April 23rd on the 26th Floor of the County Center in Conference Room b. 

The Committee on the Status of Women, also known as COSW, serves in an advisory capacity to the Board of County Commissioners on matters pertaining to the status of women.

Zoning Master to hold hearing at County Center

Tampa, Florida -- If you have a rezoning request, then you will want to be at the Zoning Hearing Master meeting downtown on Monday, April 22. 

The zoning master hearings are a public forum to address all rezoning requests in Hillsborough County.

The Zoning Hearing master will make a written report for approval or denial to the Board of County Commissioners following the meeting.

Tampa, Florida -- If you are concerned about zoning in Hillsborough County you will want to be at round one of the Land Development Code Text Amendment Hearing this week.

The Board of County Commissioners is holding a workshop at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 11 in the 2nd Floor Boardroom of County Center 601 East Kennedy Blvd in Downtown Tampa.

According to the County Website Land Development Code includes zoning, site development, and subdivision regulations. The intent of the LDC is to promote and preserve public health, safety, and welfare.
