Man in serious condition after crash with semi | News

Tampa, Florida -- A crash between a car and a semi left one man in serious condition Wednesday morning. 

Tampa Police say around 7 a.m. the driver of the semi was heading east in the right hand lane over the Licata Bridge on Causeway Boulevard with his flashers on when the driver of a Mazda compact car crashed into the back of the semi.

Fire Rescue crews extricated the man from the car and rushed him to Tampa General Hospital where he is in serious condition. 

Authorities say 22nd Street at Causeway Boulevard will be closed for several hours while detectives reconstruct the scene. Drivers are advised to use an alternate route.
