RNC causing problems for Council on Status of Women meeting | News
Tampa, Florida --The Republican Nation Convention is causing a problem for the Hillsborough Council on the Status of Women.
The Council normally meets at Count Center 601 East Kennedy Blvd. in downtown Tampa, but because of the RNC the building will be closed during the Convention, so the organization decided to hold its next meeting by conference-call on August 21
However because of Florida's broad government in the sunshine law, the County Attorney's Office told the Council on the Status of Women it would be violating the Sunshine law if it meet on the phone even if it provided an access number for the public.
The Council is now scrambling to find a location where the members can actually meet and the public can have access to the meeting.
