Plant Museum presents Japan and Victorians

Tampa, Florida--The Henry B. Plant Museum is presenting an exhibit, Japan and the Victorians.

It is a look at art in Japan and style that influenced the 19th century artists and culture.

According to the Museum, by 1854, Commodore Matthew C. Perry had opened up the island of Japan to the Western world and Victorians were eager to explore and consume Japan's exotic culture.

The exhibit runs through the end of the year from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day at the Henry B. Plant Museum, 401 W. Kennedy Blvd. in downtown Tampa.
