Seminole Heights Library to triple in size

Tampa, FL-- The Seminole Heights Branch Library will close at the end of the day on Wednesday, October 31, for the demolition and construction of a new replacement library. This heavily-used neighborhood library will be rebuilt in the same location, but the new library will be triple its previous size to meet the needs of the community.

When it is completed, the new two-story, 22,000-square-foot library will include:

Hillsborough County, Florida - Hillsborough County's Parks, Recreation and Conservation offers Cheerleading, Dance, Self Defense and many other classes at various neighborhood parks.

Classes are offered in partnership with private instructors from all around Hillsborough County. The cost of the classes varies from $0-$10, pay-as-you-go.

Hillsborough schools to host college nights for high school students

Tampa, Florida – The Hillsborough County Public Schools Guidance Services department is hosting four college nights for all high school students.

"High School students and their families will have the opportunity to visit with more than 100 college, university, and military academy representatives about preparing for college, applying to college, and the financial aid and scholarship processes," Hillsborough County Public School representatives explain in a release about the events.

The dates and locations are as follows. All meetings start at 6 p.m.:

Seminole, Florida-- The Belle of the Ball Project will distribute homecoming dresses to high school girls from low-income families in Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties. The event kicks off today at 10 a.m. and will last through 2 p.m. at the Seminole Mall.

Unable to make it today? Don't worry; almost 4,000 quality dresses will be there for the choosing (along with shoes and purses!) on October 6 and 20, and again on November 3.

Tampa, Florida – Smithsonian Magazine Museum Day is a national celebration of museums, and it's taking place near you on Saturday, September 29.

The doors will open at 10 a.m., welcoming all guests to take part in the celebration of museums. Participating museums will allow a visitor with a Museum Day Pass and one guest free admission to the museum.
