Employee Advisory Committee to meet in Downtown

Tampa, Florida- If you or a family member is one of the thousands of people who work for Hillsborough County, you might want to attend the upcoming Employee Advisory Committee meeting.

It's scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on April 11th in the Boardroom of the Tampa Port Authority 1101 Channelside Drive in Downtown Tampa.

The Advisory Committee meets once a month and acts as an advisory board to the Hillsborough County Civil Service Board. It deals with issues concerning personal matters and rules that affect employees in the County.

Bay area Mega-Mixer, Trade Show April 17

Town 'N Country, Florida - The Upper Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Mega-Mixer and Trade Show to celebrate the Grand Opening of the Hampton Inn located at 4017 Tampa Road, Oldsmar from April 17 starting at 5 p.m.

The Hampton Inn is Oldsmar's fifth and largest hotel with 110 rooms and full of modern amenities. The hotel also boasts the cities largest conference room/banquet space with over 3,000 sq feet of room.

Apollo Beach, Florida - Hillsborough County Commissioner Sandra L. Murman, District 1, and her staff are encouraging residents to come out meet with them.

They're hosting an event where people can enjoy a cup of coffee and discuss their thoughts and concerns on various projects and community issues taking place in Hillsborough County.

Bob Saget coming to the Tampa Improv

Tampa, Florida -- Bob Saget, host of America's Funniest Home Videos and star of Full House is coming to the Tampa Improv.

The comedian has five shows scheduled at The Improv April 11 - 13.

Saget has also appeared on HBO's hit series Entourage and been featured in his own documentary series for A&E titled Strange Days with Bob Saget.

The Tampa Improv is located in Centro Ybor at 1600 E. 8th Avenue.

Meeting for Bike and Pedestrian Safety

Hillsborough County, Florida - Hillsborough County will hold three public meetings to discuss proposed improvements to several roads in northern Hillsborough County in order to increase pedestrian and bicycle safety.

The suggested improvements are being designed by the Public Works Department after these roads were identified by the Metropolitan Planning Organization as high pedestrian and bicycle crash corridors.

The total cost of all nine projects is approximately $8.5 million. Construction is projected to begin in mid to late 2013.
