Police investigate suspicious death of elderly man | Crime

Tampa, Florida -- Tampa Police and Fire Rescue are investigating an incident that led to the death of an elderly man Friday morning.

Authorities say TPD and TPR forced their way into the man's apartment in the 8400 Del Ray Court shortly after 4:30 a.m. The man, identified as 68-year-old James Sanders, was taken to Tampa General Hospital and later died at the hospital from his injuries.

Police say he suffered trauma to his upper body and investigators are trying to determine if they were accidental or if a crime occurred.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
