The Ultimate Tampa Bay Scavenger Challenge | Community Spirit

Ye Mystic Krewe of the Nautilus presents The 5th annual Quest For Hope, ‘The Ultimate Tampa Bay Scavenger Challenge’ benefiting The 1Voice Foundation, Saturday, May 14, 2011.
 
Teams sign by 5:30 p.m. at Gaspar’s Grotto in Ybor City and at 6 p.m. the SCVNGR mobile application will start the teams on their adventure.  At 10:00 p.m., the application shuts down and all teams meet back at Gaspar’s Grotto for an awards ceremony dinner and entertainment.  The cost is $500.00 per 5 person team with proceeds going to The 1Voice Foundation for use in the “Club Nautilus” program at the Florida Aquarium.  Through this annual event, The Krewe of the Nautilus has raised more than $30,000.00 in funds for pediatric oncology patients and their families.
 
The Quest for Hope challenges teams to locate items and complete zany tasks at local attractions and famous landmarks in Ybor City and Channelside.  You may find yourself bowling backwards, playing football with members of the Storm Arena Football team, or suiting up in firefighters’ gear provided by Tampa Fire Rescue.  Whatever the challenge, FUN is guaranteed!  
 
The 1Voice Foundation is a non-profit organization that unites families affected by childhood cancer, providing them with the educational, emotional and financial support necessary to cope with their life-threatening illness.  It also provides much-needed funding for research facilities and doctors in the childhood cancer community.
 
The Quest for Hope registration deadline is May 14, 2011.  Individual registrations cost $100 and the individuals will be matched with a team.
