Tampa, Florida-- The Professional Philanthropy Network's (PPN) goal is to create networking opportunities and positive career connections for Tampa Bay area professionals while giving back to deserving charitable causes.

On May 22nd at The Lodge (516 S Howard Ave, Tampa), 100% of our event's proceeds will be donated to our May beneficiary, Sergeant Michael Nicholson!

Mail carriers collect food for Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive!

Carrollwood, Florida - Mail carriers will take part in the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.

Residents can leave non-perishable food item by their mailbox and the letter carrier will pick it up. The food will be donated to food banks to distribute to needy citizens.

Last year, over 70-million pounds of food was donated across the country.

If you cannot leave food items by your mailbox, you can drop it by your local post office.

Hillsborough County, Florida-- An upcoming, exciting event will honor some of Hillsborough County's high school senior athletes, and award them with scholarships for displaying hard work, determination and true spirit.

The "Heart of a Champion" scholarship will go to one male, and one female student athlete from 33 Hillsborough County schools who have demonstrated what “heart” is all about, event organizers explained Wednesday.

Tampa, Florida -- Today wraps up the Fifth Third Feeding Families campaign. 

On May 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. bank employees will gather at Metropolitan Ministries in Hillsborough (2001 N. Florida Ave.) to sort and serve meals to the nonprofit’s clients on-site.

Also, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fifth Third employees will also be at Safe Harbor in Pinellas (14840 49th St. in N. Clearwater) to sort and serve meals to families in need.

Tampa Yankees Pink Out Night Saturday, May 4

The Tampa Yankees and The Container Store will team up in the fight against Breast Cancer as they host "Pink Out Night" on Saturday, May 4th, at George M. Steinbrenner Field. Gates open at 5:00pm, and the Tampa Yankees will take on the Clearwater Threshers at 6:00pm. There will be pre-game activities for all fans and a post game fireworks show sponsored by Bright House Networks.

Foundation for Tolerance Ball set for May 4th

Tampa, FL -- The Foundtion for Tolerance will be holding a Masked Ball Gala on May 4th at the Floridan Palace Hotel in downtown Tampa.

The Foundation for Tolerance was established to raise funds for at risk and LGBT teens that are living in a hostile environment or made homeless.

According to the President of the GaYBOR District Coalition, ACID BETTY has been selected to perform at the event.
