Lafave's probation lifted

Tampa, Florida - Showing no emotion, 31 year old Debra Lafave leaves the courthouse as a free woman. Judge Wayne Timmerman ended Lafave's probation by 4 years and one month. An hour earlier the new mother of twins boys and a soon to be a married woman went before Judge Timmerman asking for her probation to be terminated.

Lafave's attorney John Fitzgibbons says she's completed everything the court asked of her from 3 years house arrest, community hours and $13,000 dollars in court fees. Fitzgibbons also told the judge she has not violated her curfew or left Hillsborough County during that time as required.

"She's done everything the court ordered her and done it well, "says Fitzgibbons.

Tampa Bay Food & Wine Experience postponed

Tampa, FL -- If you're like me and are wondering why you were refunded for the Tampa Bay Food & Wine Experience it seems that due to a permitting issue that would prevent organizers from setting up in time, the event was postponed.

The new date for the festival will be Feb. 17 & 18 at Curtis Hiixon Park in downtown Tampa.

If you purchased a ticket through Groupon you should have automatically received a refund to your account. If you purchased a ticket through the festival's website, the ticket is good for the new event date. However, if you would like a refund, you can email them at cheers@savor-events.com.

Tampa, Florida --  An otherwise quiet Monday afternoon, erupted with gunfire around 4 in the area of Tampa's 1500 block of West Main Street.

Tampa Police say Jerome Parks, 20, walked out of a neighbor's apartment and toward his own when a man got out of a parked car and started firing his gun at Parks.

Parks then ran toward his house, where 3-year-old Latavia Ash was sitting on the front porch with an adult family friend.

Possibly largest precious metal shipwreck in history

Tampa, Florida - It was 1941 during World War II. The SS Gairsoppa, a British merchant ship on its way to Great Britain from India was traveling through the dangerous waters of the North Atlantic.

The ship was running low on fuel and was forced to slow down and separate from the rest of its fleet when it came under attack by a German U-Boat. War records show a single torpedo hit the massive ship, causing it to sink 300 miles off the coast of Ireland.

Only one of the ship's 85 crewmembers survived. Everything else, sank to the bottom of the deep Atlantic, including 1,700 tons of tea and 7-million ounces of silver.

The Show: Fashion Week Tampa Bay

The Show: Fashion Week Tampa Bay

Tampa Bay was on fire Friday night as the highly anticipated fashion show finally happened.  I have been going to this event all 4 years and I must say this was by far the best show.

From the location, vendors, and even the runway setup.  It was a very sophisticated and chic event and well worth the wait to see.  Some of the vendors featured were Stella and Dot, Vertical magazine, Tampa Bay Times and much more.

I personally was intrigued by 2 tables. Of course the table with the AMAZING shoes which was Ivanka Ska. The craftsmanship on her shoe designs are amazing.

Also, the other table that caught my interest was the Yelp table. The young ladies explained to me that the website is to promote small businesses. Basically you search what you are looking for and it will search the database and you can then see reviews from customers.  I thought that was great for our community.
