UT loses lead, Schmidt waits for 600th win

Tampa, Fla. -- The scene was just right for Richard Schmidt to earn his 600th career win in front of a sparse home crowd at the Martinez Center on UT's campus.

Then the Spartans lost an eight-point lead with less than seven minutes to play, and Florida Memorial snuck away with a 53-50 win. The loss dropped Tampa to 1-2.

Ashton Graham led the Spartans with 17 points, while Osby Kellly added 13.

The Spartans lost their lead because of late turnovers and poor shooting.  UT shot just 36.4%, including 2-for-14 from three-point range.
