Tampa, FL -- The GaYBOR District Coalition is once again holding a holiday decorating contest.

The organization is handing out awards in 5 different categories including Best Restaurant, Best Bar/Club, Best Residential, Best Group Effort and Best Retail.

Judging was done earlier this week and winners will be announced Friday night December 9^th at the group's 4^th annual holiday party.

Spend 'A Night with Classic Ken Kesey' on the Bluebird Bus

In celebration of the Bluebird Books inaugural bus tour, The Buzz is presenting "A Night with Classic Kesey" on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 6 - 9 p.m.

The evening will feature a screening of footage from Ken Kesey's famous "Further" bus tour (credited by many as the beginning of the Hippy Movement) along with live readings of poetry and banned book excerpts, plus counterculture books available for purchase.

$19 million in grants report shows only 18 families are helped

Tamap, Florida -- The federal government has sent millions of dollars to Hillsborough County to help low income families live in decent housing under what is called the Neighborhood Stabilization Program. Although the county was given the grant in 2009, a September report shows that the families that have been helped is less than you can count on your toes and fingers.

Some would wonder how she does it after what she's going through in the last two years.

Investigation: Port of Tampa violates policy

Tampa, Florida -- The Port of Tampa appears to have violated its own policy with a Mitt Romney appearance that happened at the Port on November 29. The 10 News Investigators have discovered the Port did not charge Romney for use of space.

PRECO returns more than $726,000 to members

Wauchula, FL -- Residents are about to get a check from their own utility company. The Board of Directors of Peace River Electric Cooperative (PRECO), based in Wauchula, has authorized the release of more than $726,300 in capital credit payments to approximately 11,500 consumer-members this month.

A benefit from electric cooperatives owned by served individuals is that they can see a return of excess revenue, called margins, in the form of capital credits. Meaning, when there is excess revenue, the co-op pays its members in cash.
