HART offers free rides for students on spring break

Hillsborough County, Fla. -- Spring break begins next week for Hillsborough County public school students, and if gas prices have your pockets pinched, then hop on HART for free!

HART has announced that throughout March, it is hosting its Spring Break STAY-cation program for middle and high school students. Just show Student ID or a HART Youth ID, and ride FREE on all HART local bus routes, as well as In-Town Trolley and Flex services.

There's already a Gasparilla Pirate Festival, Gasparilla Arts Festival and Gasparilla Film Festival, so why not stick with the trend.

And so, the Gasparilla Music Festival was born.

Tampa, Florida -- A baby's cry at All Children's Hospital demands attention. But this cry isn't coming from a real baby; it's coming from a high-tech mannequin.

The medical mannequins at the new Simulation Center are almost creepy in their ability to mimic young patients.

"He does blink, he can cry tears," says ACH Education Specialist Lisa McGuire, standing over a mannequin of a young boy.

Tampa, Florida -- Hillsborough County Commissioners are tossing in the towel in their legal fight against former County Administrator Pat Bean, but it's the taxpayers that are going to take it on the chin to the tune of more than half a million dollars. 

The county lost in court, fighting the decision to pay, but now they've decided not to appeal and will pay her the money, lots of money.

Tampa, Fla.  -- The Patel Conservatory Youth Theater in Conjunction with the David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts is presenting the Bear Went over the Mountain. 

The performance is at 7 p.m. this Friday and Saturday, March 9-10 at the TECO theaters at the David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts in Downtown Tampa.

The Straz describes the show as an opportunity to "see what Da Bear and his animal buddies discover as they journey up the mountain in search of adventure!"

Tampa, Fla. -Bernini of Ybor is trying something new. As Beer Week is celebrated around the Tampa Bay area, the Italian restaurant is offering a Craft Beer Dinner Thursday night.

The restaurant will offer a five-course meal pairing craft and imported beers with a special menu.

The Craft Beer Dinners will be served starting at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
